Groningen Europapark Station is an important hub in the regional and urban transport network. The station is characterised by its unusual architecture: a titanium roof, 36 metres long, consisting of two side wings and a glass central section to let in daylight. The environment around the station has been made into a city garden. Natural stone terraces with lush vegetation consisting of multi-stem and standard trees with a ground planting of flowering perennials give this area its own identity. This means that the station has become much more than a practical, logistical hub. A welcoming, high-quality outside space which is a pleasant place to be has been created.
