Trees and planting

Successful projects in outdoor space are not complete without high-quality planting. This begins with good ground preparation, optimal condition of the range and good planning.

Quality of trees

Quality of trees

Strong trees form a green basis for a successful project. Therefore, when selecting the trees for your green project, it is important to pay close attention to the quality of the range that you choose.  Elements to consider here include the plant spacing at the nursery, how often the trees are transplanted, the thickness of the roots and the presence of a continuous central leader in the trees.

Begin at the ground

The underground location is very important for trees to have a successful and healthy life cycle. It is important to adjust the range to the soil type in your project. In this way you can get started without many adjustments and complicated processes for soil improvement. Also, the tree must have sufficient space for root development; the general rule here is: space available for root development = 0.75 to 1 m³ per square metre of crown surface area.

Suitable underplanting

The addition of underplanting in a project brings many benefits. It is not only visually more attractive than if you plant just grass under the trees. Most trees grow better when the underplanting is as natural as possible, and this is rarely grass. Flowering, varied underplanting also provides greater biodiversity. The presence of different birds and insects will also reduce the chance of diseases and pests, which have an impact on the trees.
