From the moment of planting, it is important to inspect the tree for diseases and pests. We have listed common pests and diseases, categorised into infectious diseases (bacterial/fungal/viral) and pests caused by insects. We focus on the diseases that mainly occur during the aftercare period, up to 5 years after planting. Transplanting often puts the trees under stress, making them particularly susceptible to factors such as drought, changes in soil and groundwater levels, and air pollution. We also cover some symptoms caused by weather conditions, such as bark scorch, night frost and hail.
